Chinese Gangster Element

(mid‑1980s, Halifax, UK)

Formed in the mid‑1980s, Chinese Gangster Element brought together Fiona “Queen” McBean on keys and vocals with Mick Haymer, Andrew Greaves, and Kevin Greaves.

Recognized early by BBC’s John Peel, the band recorded a Peel session on 1 September 1984, and performed at ICA Rock Week, establishing a cult indie presence in the UK underground scene .
